About

Hello, I’m Jude.

I live in Far North Queensland, where hot days, heavy rain and humid rooms are familiar parts of home life. I started Palm & Sage Studio to make the choices behind a comfortable tropical or coastal home easier to understand.

Why these guides exist

I love tropical living, and I love bringing clarity to decisions that can feel noisy and confusing. These short guides start with a real home problem: a bathroom that stays damp, a room that feels clammy, or a product that needs to hold up near the coast. I research the options and explain the tradeoffs so you can make a choice that suits your home. Sometimes that means a simple change; sometimes it means buying the right product.

How I choose what to recommend

We check published guidance, exact product specifications and owner feedback, and explain why an option may suit one home but not another. We say when we have not tested something ourselves. Some recommendations carry affiliate links; if you buy through them, Palm & Sage Studio may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This supports the work behind the guides.

We aim to be accurate, but product details, prices and availability change and we can make mistakes. Please confirm the exact model, current terms and suitability for your location before buying.

Where to explore next

You’re reading the newer Palm & Sage Studio guides, where we’re broadening out to the everyday challenges of tropical and coastal homes. On my original Palm & Sage Studio website, you’ll find more detailed writing on tropical bathrooms, including layout, airflow and materials. Island & Sage on Etsy is my coastal design shop. I link to the older articles or the shop only when they fit the problem you’re trying to solve.
